This wonderful antique vanity jar has a fabulous design pattern of oak leaves and acorns; the mighty oak is symbolic of strength. Circa late art deco 1920-1930's, once upon time. This jar held powder and adorned the ladies vanity table with elegance and symbolism.

The appealing round shaped vanity jar with the unique oak and acorn design is alpaca silver. The lid is silver with gold coloring. Around the edge is a linear design with two leaves and two acorns that repeat around the lid creating a lovely design. The edge of the lid has maker's mark in cartouche: c g h with small underlined g, another mark in cartouche (hard to decipher) and alp in cartouche (for alpaca silver) this is the mark of c.

They were established in 1860 and by the 1960's were still a leading company. Their pieces are collectible and coveted.

There is a grand cut glass pattern in the glass all around the base. The wonderful sentimental vanity jar can hold jewelry or trinkets or vanity keepsakes. Will make a lovely gift for a special lady for her boudoir will look equally charming on display in an office, on a shelf or on a living room end table. Condition: the vanity jar is in good to very good used condition. The lid is shows wear and there are variations in coloring.

Glass is in excellent condition. Measurements: 2-3/8" across by 1-7/8" in height. This item is made of dresser jar, glass base, alpaca silver lid, oak leaf design, acorn design and makers mark. The style is art deco and art nouveau.
