Antique cut crystal and brass toiletries bottle with Green Man, birds etc repousse top. c1905. Dressing table decor Ref AV

Antique crystal and brass capped toiletries oval jar for the dressing table. The lid is decorated with birds amongst scrolls either side of a blank cartouche which is above the face of a green man. It is highly ornate with a star base and hobnail body. Dates from c1890-1910, probably c1905.

The glass is in very good antique condition with no cracks or chips visible with the naked eye and no pin holes. The lid fits securely but is very slightly convex. It was originally silver plated, but generations of people cleaning it have worn the plate on the exterior away. It retains traces on the rim and is fully plated on the inside, see photos.

It has been lightly cleaned but still retains a lovely patina. Ideal for jewellery, hairpins or a countless number of uses around the home. It is approx 8.5cm by 5.5cm and 3.2cm high. This item is made of crystal and brass.
