Fabulous antique goofus glass victorian-era vanity jar or powder dish. This could also be a small covered trinket dish or ring dish. Made in the early 1900s, this jar is in the cabbage rose pattern and is pressed glass decorated with gold, unfired paint. Goofus glass paint wears easily and the effect today provides a beautiful history shown in the age through its wear.
Much like a rich patina on a lovely silver dish. This dresser jar is a beautiful addition to the cottage chic decor or victorian collector. Condition: significant wear to the paint. Common to goofus glass of this era. The lid has some a lot of chipping and rough areas to the rim when lifted. Measurements: about 3 1/4" tall including the lid, 4" wide. Please note: actual colors may vary due to lighting conditions and variations in screen calibrations when viewing. I try and use natural lighting for photography and do not use any filters so the items are shown as true to their actual appearance as possible. Please feel free to ask any questions thank you.The prices reflected in my listings are just general and typically an over-estimate. I trust you, the purchaser, to have a keen eye and know what it is you are hunting for. I try my best and spend time researching every piece, but i make mistakes. Vintage pieces may contain imperfections, as is common with wear and age. I select items that pull at my heart.
Sometimes these blemishes add to the character and personality of the piece and i fall in love with it, flaws and all. I do my best to show and/or describe the imperfections that i find so you can decide if it's something you fall in love with as well. This item is made of glass.
