Antique Lenk Austria Guilloche Enamel Lid and Heavy Cut Glass Powder Jar, Vintage Vanity Decor, Wedding Gift for Bride
Use this stunning jar on your vanity table as intended or as a jewelry box. It would also make a delightful wedding, anniversary or birthday gift. This large, antique powder jar features a guilloche lid. The lid is most likely brass or copper alloy that was possibly gilt.
It has champagne colored enamel over a radiating engine turned design was decorated with a colorful bouquet of transferware flowers in the center and single flowers around the edge. The cut crystal jar features cut stars and crisscrosses and has a polished bottom.The lid sits snug on the base. The side of the lid is stamped lenk made in austria. The jar was made in vienna, austria in the 1920s. Lenk was previously known as wolkenstein and glückselig in vienna. The company was acquired by liebmann lenk in the 1920s and the hallmark was changed to "lenk" or "lenkwerk".
They were famous for their esteemed guilloche enamel goods in the late 1800s and early 1900s. This item will be insured and will need to be signed for unless requested otherwise. There is a dent in the edge of the lid (at about 11 o'clock in photo #3) and a few small indentations around the edge. There are some small dents/waves in the portion of the lid that slides over the base. There is wear and discoloration to the brass lid.There is some minor wear/marks on the enamel. There are some small scratches and flea bites on the body of the jar as well as some bubbles. There are a few tiny fleabites along the inner rim of the jar.
