Story behind this art piece: like a magnificent fire i found these gorgeous old, never used, glass fire opals recently. They were made for 1950's costume jewelry in what was west germany. The surface is smooth and domed, yet the insides have a crackly look with a multitude of reds, yellows and fabulous golds. I paired them with stunning yellow colored citrine rhinestones, plus the complementary colors of red and coffee brown. Note about rhinestones: all my jeweled items are made with glass rhinestones with pointed backs. They are meticulously embedded into the mosaic substrate by hand, one by one. The seal becomes fixed, durable, and waterproof.The process is very time consuming and is all done by hand. Much of the time i must use a magnifying glass, since the stones are so small. The result is that you will have an art piece that will look as beautiful as it does now for many years to come. Rhinestones & photography: the rhinestones i use are sparkling and beautiful getting that sparkle to show up in a picture, however, can be quite a challenge.
There are no white spots or black spots on the stones. These are photographic artifacts caused by the camera and lighting. I do my best to minimize this. Monitor settings may also differ, so actual color may vary a bit. Video included in my listings will show how truly dazzling these items are.
