Offering a marvelous little lidded jar or box. To me it looks like a powder jar for dresser or vanity. The unglazed parts of the bottom half look like the clay itself is blue yet there are weird white lines inside. Also, the unglazed portion of the lid shows a rough grayish clay, almost like stoneware.

I believe flowers and leaves are pinch-formed porcelain; just a bizarre looking melange of materials roses are surrounded by a delicate band of gold filigree. Measures a little under 4" across, and a bit under 2" high, counting the roses. It's a rather shallow piece. Stand not included, just trying to get good side shots for ya. Condition: not too bad the only "damage" i note is a small chip off one pink rose petal, the one sticking up the farthest, of course i thought the slightly ragged looking edges on another petal were damage, but upon closer examination, it appears to be how it was made.

Which is why i suspect they were pinch-formed. The clay has a bit of a bubbled look on close inspection, with a couple of what i'd ordinarily think were glaze pops but look more like divots in the clay. One on the rim of the bottom portion, another on the side. Almost looks like bits of straw were stuck to the clay , which burnt up when it was fired.

Gold is in pretty nice shape, with only a little wear. Cost doesn't vary too much by location at this rate, but may be a $ or two less to ny state. I totally understand that when you can't pick something up to examine it closely, you want to see as much as you can, as clearly as possible. This item is made of china, pottery, ceramic, earthenware and stoneware.
