Your cost could be less. Imagine my surprise to pick this up and find oneida on the bottom i thought oneida was silverware. Just by the style/design, i expected to see "made in india" on the bottom. I think this is a powder or trinket box of sorts. It appears to be made of brass, but i do not know if the bottom part is solid. There is what appears to be a brass inlay in the resin (bakelite catalin) lid, with a lovely design of flowers and birds. Measures a tiny bit over 2.5" across the top of the lid, and around 1.5" with the lid on.

Condition: very nice there is evidence of use, of course. But i see no missing inlay. No chunks or chips missing out of the lid.

No dents or dings in the brass part. Would probably polish up nicely the only thing i'm noticing is what looks like some kind of residue up under the crease of the lid. Whatever this box may have been filled with once. Don't worry, it's dry, not icky or sticky. Scraped some of it out with a claw, but not sure what to clean this kind of plastic with, and i don't wanna damage it. Rates increase every january, but i still charge less than window for priority. Costs can vary with location. A $ or so less to ny state. I totally understand that when you can't pick something up to examine it closely, you want to see as much as you can, as clearly as possible. This item is made of metal, brass, resin, plastic, bakelite and catalin.
