Dorothy gray portrait face powder box, unopened. Blue/grey slightly textured box with blue writing to lid. 1930's - 1940's.

Portrait face powder was introduced in 1938. Portrait face powder was described as'ideally suited to the most sensitive skin', and'protective in application, as it contains just enough of an emollient ingredient for clinging smoothnessit is fluffy as can be and giving the skin a fragile bloom'. The face powder box is in good vintage condition, unopened. The box does have some light cosmetic wear from storage, some feint marks in places and rubbing to corners. This item is made of cardboard.
