This antique clear crystal dresser jar has 10 sides and features a sterling silver lid. The screw on lid is decorated with a floral motif made up of morning glories and associated foliage.
The center of the lid has a reserve bearing a beautifully engraved monogram executed in period script reading "mcl". The lidded dresser jar is in good condition with no cracks or repairs. The lid fits squarely on the top of the jar and screws on easily, keeping the contents safely stored inside.
As an antique, the lidded dresser jar shows signs of age and use expected in antique items. There are a few tiny chips on the glass and some dents on the side of the sterling lid along with waviness at the base and traces of tarnish. As seen in the accompanying photographs, these issues do not detract from the appearance of the dresser jar and are noted for accuracy. The jar stands 3.625" as measured to the top of the domed lid and is 1.5" across the widest points of the base. The inside measurement of the mouth of the jar is 1 across.
The inside of the lid is stamped "sterling 925/1000". The lidded jar weighs 5.8oz. This sterling lidded dresser jar would be a great addition to a collection of antique dresser jars or works equally well as a stand alone piece. Ideal for storage or as a decorative accent.A pretty and practical find. This item is made of antique glass dresser jar sterling lid and morning glory sterling silver lid.
