Vintage United States Army Motif Musical Box-Powder Puff Box

This is an antique united states army themed aluminum musical-powder box. These were very popular collectables in the 1930's. This antique lidded powder-music box is made from aluminum and sits upon three ornate gold metal feet.

The music box has red and blue pin striping around the body. The lid also has red and blue pin striping. On the lid top is an gold medallion depicting the us army's american bald eagle holding a scroll in its beak with the e pluribus unum motto; in one claw is an olive branch, a symbol of peace, and the other claw holds thirteen arrows, a symbol of war. The music box winding mechanism is on the bottom of the base and stamped into the base: us patent no. When the lid is lifted, the music box plays perfectly, although i do not recognize the old time tune. This item comes with a peach colored powder puff, i'm sure not original, but in very good condition. This antique musical powder puff box is a wonderful decorative piece from yesteryear.
