An original art deco bakelite musical powder bowl from the late 1930s / 1940s in working condition. It features a swiss made jalco musical mechanism and plays the tune " lili marlene" when the lid is lifted. The lid is enamel and brass with a veined pattern whihc is deliberate and not a fault. I have a few of these (all play different tunes) and they all have the same red veining / crackle effect.
Inside is a mirror and a powder puff. The knob on teh lid wobbles a little but is not loose. Measures approx 5 inches diameter and 4.5 inches high. This item is made of bakelite and enamel, brass, mirror.
