The dubarry perfumery company, hove england. From research i have done (courtesy of brighton & hove museum), a mr kilby pears manufactured a limited range of beauty products and during the great war the dubarry cosmetics name was founded.
The name chosen was as a tribute to britain's french allies. The company went in to liquidation into 1982. Arcadie was one of dubarry's first perfumes.
Dubarry is not be confused with richard hudnut's du barry as they are 2 completely different companies. The tin is in good antique condition and the scent of the talc is pleasant. The graphics remain largely intact, there are some feint scuffs and marks here and there.
The top of the tin around the screw top lid are some small areas of corrosion, but nothing major. Base has a few scuffs. In overall good condition, which displays very well. This item is made of tin and talc.
