1800's Silver Chatelaine Powder Compact and Original Puff Sterling Beauty Compact Antique Chatelaine Powder Compact Vintagesouthwest

What a fantastic piece of history this sterling silver powder compact is.. it has a chain which means it was most likely part of a chatelaine. Still has the original powder puff inside. Both it and the mirror are in outstanding condition. The metal around the mirror doesn't lay completely flat but appears to be in good condition.

The entire compact and chain are sterling silver. The back of the compact is engraved with a name we can't quite make out. The hinged lid has a repousse (raised in relief from the back or inside) floral design in it. Compact measures 1 3/4" in diameter x 1/2" tall and a hang length of 3 1/2 which includes the chain. This item is made of sterling silver and glass mirror.
