Here is a rare 1920s bakelite powder bowl or powder pot which has been modelled with a stylised image of josephine baker (1906-1975) to the lid. Baker has become a cultural icon of the 1920s jazz age and she was famed throughout the world at the time for her performances.
She was also a french resistance agent and civil rights activist. The bowl measures 3.75" inches across by 1.5" inches high and is marked made in england to the base.
