Here is a rare 1920s bakelite powder bowl or powder pot which has been modelled with a stylised image of josephine baker (1906-1975) to the lid. Baker has become a cultural icon of the 1920s jazz age and she was famed throughout the world at the time for her performances.
She was also a french resistance agent and civil rights activist. The bowl measures 3.75" inches across by 1.5" inches high and is marked made in england to the base. It is in good overall condition for its age with some light signs of wear to the surface. Please see all the photos and zoom in for details.
