A set of Hollywood Regency style powder box and lady's ashtray. Antique footed filigree powder box decorated with acanthus leaves. 1920-1950

Offered for sale is a splendid hollywood regency style vanity powder box of glamorous and heavily ornate design. A gift is included: a matching vintage ladys ashtray. Height: 7.5 cm (3). Length: 11.5 cm (4.5).

Width: 9 cm (3.5). The items are in excellent vintage condition with no cracks, chips or repairs. Sumptuously ornamented beveled glass dish comfortably sits inside an elegant footed gilt base featuring rococo style acanthus leaves.

The lidded box is crowned with a round filigree handle mounted on an intricate gilt metal panel. It does look like a bud ready to flower. A set of exceptionally beautiful and luxurious powder dish and the ashtray was most probably made in the 1920s to 1950s, at the time when lifestyle and both private and public spaces were reigned by glamour, opulence and comfort at the same time. Please note that the presented powder box is missing a pouf.

Nevertheless, it can be used not only as a container for body powder, but also as a jewelry casket or even as a sugar bowl possibilities are endless here. Thank you for your interest in my shop.
