Amazing british 1935 albert carter sterling silver & enamel topped powder jar. Topped powder jar / table box. Fully marked by birmingham assay office , letter l-1935. Cut glass bowl without cracks , not chipped.
Width 12 cm , height 47 mm. Enamel on lid in excellent condition. Lid are solid sterling silver , weight 105 grams.
Natural patina on silver not cleaned. Founded by albert carter in 1900 in birmingham. After studying at the birmingham central school of arts and crafts.
He gained a world wide reputation for his enameled silverware which was of particular interest to women. He was granted a royal warrant as silversmith to queen mary.
