Antique Art Nouveau Sterling Powder Jar with Monogram, Glass Dresser Jar with Sterling Monogram Lid, Dressing Table Vanity Jar, Vanity Decor
This is a beautiful antique glass powder jar with sterling monogram lid. Measurement: 4" across x 4-1/4" high. Presented here, is an elegant art nouveau pressed glass vanity powder jar/box with unusual domed sterling repousse lid featuring a ring of raised roses. Possibly "lf" thislid has a gold wash interior. The pressed jar features a combination of hobnail, fan, and crosshatch patterns with starbrst on the bottom. Just the perfect touch for vanity or dresser. Just a note, i love keeping small foiled candies in these beautiful jars. Perfect for any room, guest room, and office. Having just the normal signs of use and age. There are just a couple of tiny little dings in the lid. And i see just a couple of tiny flea bites, in the glass, which i had to go looking for. All just part of normal use and age. Nothing that is noticeable, nor takes away from the overall viewing beauty.
There are "straw" marks in the glass, towards the bottom. Occurs during the manufacturing of the class, and once again, a testament as to the age of this beautiful jar. Be sure to view all photos.
Signed: the lid is marked "sterling" along the top edge. It also has a circle with a"w" and the number 2851. If you continue looking along the edge of the lid, you will see the number 36. Bubble wrap, while protective, can sometimes be too stiff for a very fragile item, and the plastic bubbles, can also leave permanent round marks on old pieces.
Therefore, i order very soft cushioned pads from our local medical supply, and wrap each item first, in these protective pads, and then additional packing such as bubble wrap, and protective cardboard are added.
