Antique gilt sterling silver oval lidded box, vanity dressing table jar, Jones and Crompton, 1911
Elegant george v sterling silver dressing table box in the shape of a traditional soup tureen with a removable lid. Oval baluster body with two c-shaped handles; the interior of both the jar and lid is gilded. Very unusual novelty design for a trinket box and a great addition to any vanity set. Made by jones & crompton and fully hallmarked for birmingham, 1911. 123.11 g / 3.96 t oz. 8.5 cm tall to lid handle. 7 x 12 cm across at widest points. Tiny ding to body; few tiny dings to handle; the inner rim of the lid has a small ding.
