Antique japanese porcelain dresser jar, jewelry box or trinkets. This rare beauty, with hand painted lid, features two beautiful ladies, japanese gold gilded writing and stands on three golden legs.
I ask at estate sale what the writing says and never got a direct answer. Something about youth flows quickly like water and so it does.Beautiful hand painted, multi colored cover the top lid with gold gilding edging and painted swirls surround the jar base. The bottom marked waka mizu. So many purposes for this elegant simple lidded jar/box. Elegant and romantic, it holds the energy of secrets from the past as it waits to adorn the vanity or dresser, adding beauty, elegance and a touch of history from a by gone era. It stands approximately 2 tall with lid x approx 3.75 wide across the lid. The lid has a slightly scalloped rim. It's in excellent antique condition.
The inside is highly glazed. I ask used as a trinket box for yourself or given as a gift to someone special, it's a rare, unique solosurvivor that you'll love for many years. This item is made of porcelain. The style is victorian and renaissance.
