This small vanity jar is marked sterling on the side of the lid but there is no indication of the maker. It was no doubt part of a larger dresser set and dates from the early 1900's.
The crystal or heavy glass base is 10 sided. The lid is round with a beaded edge detail and is lightly domed. It fits on the base but is not a tight fit. The pot is 1 7/8 inches high to the top of the lid.
The jar has a bit of roughness on the inside lip but this is only noticed under close examination and overall, both the jar and lid are in excellent antique condition. This item is made of sterling silver and gilt, crystal, heavy glass.
