This is an antique solid silver powder compact case. From the end of 100, beginning 1900.
The outer surface of both the top and bottom lid and all edges are engine turned with an "art deco style", especially as the compact itself is squared. This is a very simple design and the hinges are integrated and hidden, which indicates a high degree of quality. It has its original sifter and its powder puff. This is squared in form , measure cm 8 (3.1)x cm 8 (3.1)weight of 109g(3.8 oz). Overall, this is in very good condition.
The body of the compact has no dints, dings or dents, only sign of use. The mirror is present and is in very good order with no scratches, cracks or chips. Still with the original sifter, showing some remains of the original powder.
This sifter can be lifted out and the space beneath filled with loose powder. The mirror is secured by a square silver frame which is hallmarked silver 800. Possible to match this with a silver cigarette case. I try to describe my pieces as best as possible.
