This style box was used on a vanity dressing table to hold dress pins or small trinkets. The side edge of the lid is hallmarked for sterling, birmingham, uk, date mark for 1903 and l&s for the maker levi & salaman. The lid alone weighs 17.1 grams. The jar is a medium size measuring 3.5" long, 1.5" across, and 1.5 high. The lid and the jar are both in good condition for their age.
Nice aged patina on the silver lid with no dings or dents. The glass is nice and clear and not very much yellowed from age. The glass has a few flea bites chips on some of the cut edges. Bottom surface has some scratches.
It still is in really remarkable condition based on age of this beautiful jar perfect for collection, display or use. This item is made of 925 sterling silver.
The style is cottage chic and victorian.
