Antique VANITY POWDER JAR Sterling Silver Art Nouveau Repousse Cut Glass Jar Pot Unger Brothers

Antique unger brothers art nouveau repousse sterling silver cut glass vanity powder jar. Rare antique unger brothers sterling silver cut glass vanity jar the top is very ornate with an art nouveau floral and scrolling pattern done in the repousse style. The center of the top comes to a domed point and is plain and engraved with the monogram initials "gcr or ger". The glass is a nice heavy cut glass with a fan and diamond pattern cut, highly collectable. The side edge of the lid is marked sterling, 925 fine along with the unger brothers makers mark.

Inside surface of the lid has a very light gold wash finish. The jar is a medium to large size measuring 3 1/4" across lid by 3 1/2" high with the lid on. The sterling lid alone weights 32 grams. The lid and the jar are both in very good condition.

Nice aged patina on the silver lid. Lid doesn't appear to have any major damage. The glass appears the be in very good condition with only some tiny flake chips on some of the cut edges. Very common to have these chips with such an old piece of glass. The glass is clear and clean.

Really remarkable condition based on age of this beautiful jar perfect for collection, display or use. This item is made of 925 sterling silver.

The style is cottage chic and victorian.
