Antique victorian large hallmarked sterling silver top crystal shaker castor 1853. This early victorian crystal shaker castor with hallmarked sterling silver top is in good vintage condition. There are a couple of dings to the silver top and a small crack to the glass rim. The tapered and fluted glass body of the jar is quite heavy. Ideal for sprinkling icing sugar, cinnamon, spices and other toppings. The hallmarks and maker's initials are rubbed through use, but they are sufficiently legible to be able to date the piece to birmingham 1853. I have suggested that the maker's initials,'hm' are those of henry maston, . However, they are rubbed and could be a different maker.
