Art deco celluloid powder box

The art deco celluloid powder box is made of yellow celluloid and has a lid decorated with theface of a masked columbine (or pierrette) against a textured art deco style background. All is done in beautiful detail, from the columbine's mouth to the hat and locks of hair. The decoration is embossed on the celluloid lid which has a domed surface.

The condition is very good with no scratches or chips, only a loss of colour shows the age of the box. It is classic art deco and very finely made. To open one must very gently hold the bottom and turn the lid as it shuts tightly when closed. The size is 8 cm /3.14 inches (diameter) x 3.5 cm (1.37 inches). Please note that most of our items are antiques and vintage preowned and used goods, so not in perfect new condition.
