Art Deco Champlevé Enamel POWDER BOX MIRROR by Lenemalier Leningrad Soviet

An old hexagonal powder box with mirror, decorated with enamel. The painting, executed in the champlevé technique, depicts a skier wearing a red jumpsuit with a winter landscape as a background. The powder box is preserved in excellent condition. It has no damage or deformation.

The latch is fully functional. Interior: gold wash interior, with powder area, no puff, mirror with good reflection and intact, . The powder box was made during the soviet era in leningrad (now st petersburg), at the lenemalier company, which in soviet times produced all sorts of products in brass, aluminium, cupro-nickel and other alloys, decorated with enamel or filigree. Information about the company is very scarce.

What is known is that the powder box presented here was made in the 1930s and was made by the so-called enamellers - stakhanovites, work leaders. This item is made of metal and enamel.
