Incredibly beautiful antique art nouveau vanity jar features a decorative sterling silver top and cut glass bottom. Gorgeous repoussé flowers, leaves, and scrolls decorate the top. Lid is without a monogram.
Powder jar has beveled panels and an eight pointed star cut into the base. Condition: glass portion has a chip on the rim, and tiny flea bites looking closely. Bottom surface also exhibits some scratches. They are virtually unnoticeable when on display, whether on a vanity table, in the bathroom, or repurposed as a ring or trinket box. Lid has a a small line (scuff) about long on the polished portion of the top (again, not intrusive).Sterling silver shows expert american craftsmanship in the baltimore style, and a warm patina mostly on the recessed rim. Note: lid is closely fitted to the base, and is easy to remove and put back in place. 2 high x 2-1/2 wide across the top. Total weight 96.1g (3.39 oz).
