A beautiful little vintage lidded trinket pot for the dressing table, c. In nicer quality chinese cloisonne. The pot is in metal which has been gilded a bright but'soft' gold all over with a slightly textured finish. The cloisonne work is not all over, there is a lot of the gold in between. The lid has a central pale pink and white flower- probably a chrysanthemom- with two blue and turquoise butterflies fluttering nearby. Around the edge are more pink and blue stylised flowers with the same pattern around the base. Inside the lid and base, and on the bottom of the pot are finished with glossy speckled-blue enamel- really pretty and clean.
In excellent vintage condition throughout with no wear or damaged- a few very tiny dark spots if you look through a loupe. 60mm wide and 25mm tall. The lid is not meant to fit tightly- it is for a dressing table, not a handbag. A nice piece, heavy and well made. This item is made of metal and gilding, enamel, cloisonne.
