This is an approximately 3-7/8" tall and 3-13/16" across crystal dresser jar with sterling and machine turned guilloche enamel lid that is a deep blue. I believe it was made in birmingham, england by george bowen & sons between 1877-1890.
This is a large, heavy jar with 7 panels of diamond cut glass and a starburst on the bottom. There are a few fleabites to the high points of the crystal.
The sterling silver is clearly marked "made in england" and has the walking lion sterling mark and gb&s and the birmingham anchor mark. The guilloche is in very good condition - there are a few slight scratches that i didn't see with the naked eye, but that the camera picked up. The enamel is not chipped or cracked and there is no loss that i can see. The lid fits nicely and there are no dents to the rims. I have not polished the silver. Please look at all the pictures as they show the detail and condition better than i can describe. Happy to answer questions - please ask. This item is made of glass, sterling silver and enamel.
