A pair of two vintage aluminum lov-lor face powder boxes, designed by rene lalique in 1944 for cheramy new york with an art nouveau or art deco queen ann's lace design. These vintage cosmetics tins are marked on the bottom "lov-lor face powder, cheramy, new york" and one still retains its original "light flesh" sticker. Box #1: very good to excellent, with a snug lid and no dents. It has light scratches expected on aluminum of this age. There is one white mark about 1/8 wide (see close-up photo).
Box #2: good, with some darkening on the lid that looks like make-up (in original found condition) and some dents to lid and rim of box, and the bottom of the box. Inside has powder residue and what looks like rouge or lipstick satins. It also has light scratches expected on aluminum of this age.
The lid fits fairly tightly, and it is a beautiful collectible piece despite some signs of age. Goods eclectic specializes in vintage items at least 20 years old, some much older. I examine and describe items thoroughly, but may miss something.
