Here is an antique bristol glass covered dresser box or vanity jar. The glass is a grayish beige color, sometimes called a caramel or taupe color. The glass looks opaque, but when held up to the light, it has translucency.
This piece is decorated with hand painted scene, done in white, featuring a crane or heron, or stork bird, among cat-o'-nine-tails. The lid has a painted white dot decoration. This covered vanity box stands approx. 6 high, measuring to the top of the ruffled lid finial.
The top opening is approx. 3 across, and the base has a diameter of approx. This antique bristol glass covered jar is in good condition, with no chips or cracks.
