Vintage Antique Papier Mache, Lacquer and Mother of Pearl Abalone Powder Pot Vanity Boudoir Make Up

This is a beautiful vintage/antique black papier mache and lacquer powder pot. The lid is decorated with chips of mother of pearl and abalone in a band around the rim and in a central disc. The box measures approx 3" diameter x 2.5" high. In excellent antique condition apart from the following age related and expected minor faults.

There is an ancient repair to the edge of the lid - this has been very well done and can only be seen when you remove the lid and look closely. There are possibly one or two tiny chips of mother of pearl missing but again not noticeable to the naked eye.

The pewter colour edging around the central disc is slightly worn away in one area - see photos. Swans down powder puffs are available on separate listings in the vanity/boudoir section of the shop. This item is made of papier mache, mother of pearl and abalone.
