Beautiful antique chinoiserie papier-mâché black powder box with lovely gold gilt family garden scene around the perimeter and top. Naopleon iii period: mid to late 1800s. It is an old, from the late 1800s and is a quality made piece. Zoom in to see the talent of the hand painted details. There are signs of use, which is completely normal for an item that would have been used every day when it contained powder but the images are still clear.
