Vintage French Wood Powder Box, Treen Box, Cylindrical Box.

Vintage french turned wood box. These little cylindrical boxes were used for face powder bought in a pharmacy around 1920's. I have not cleaned it out and it looks like the remains of powder inside with a faint perfume smell. Some had little powder puffs too, but not in this one.

Domed top and convex base. It has been varnished, i have polished it with beeswax.

Label on base is not readable, could easily be removed if wished. Sweet little turned wood piece. Condition: near the opening is a small indented round area that looks as though it was a knot in the wood - see picture. The top has darkened and is a little marked.

It closes nice and tightly. Size: height: 3 inches 7.6 cm. Diameter: just under 3 inches 7.5 cm.
