This stunning vintage hair receiver jar will make a lovely addition to your collection of hollywood regency vanity items or a lovely gift for mom or any woman on your list. This mid century round hair receiver jar is made of a thick and decorative crystal cut glass then topped with an ornate brass lid in a floral relief motif. The brass lid has a 1-1/2 inch diameter opening in its center to allow for placement of hair. Although rare today, the hair receiver was a common fixture on the dressing tables of women from victorian times to the early decades of the 20th century. Its purpose was to save hair pulled from the hairbrush and comb, which were used vigorously on a daily basis. This ensemble resembles a family heirloom piece passed through many a generation.
Truly an elegant piece to display on your vintage vanity dresser or bathroom dressing table. Perhaps ideal as a powder dish or to store cotton balls. This powder jar is 3-1/2 inch high by 4 inch diameter. Overall this piece is in good vintage condition. There is a slight patina on the brass lid -adding to its charm.
The glass is in good condition with no cracks or breaks. Its in good condition overall considering its age and years of use and appreciation. Vintage is classified as being made before 2002.
