Seen here is a wonderful blue heinrich hoffman czech powder / jar or box circa 1920s. Measuring approximately 3 1/2 in diameter and 2 3/4 high, the jar has a highly-polished bottom and is in excellent condition with the optic-featured, prism-effected glass being shiny and bright. The jar is beautifully intaglio-cut to depict a maiden blowing bubbles in the presence of eros (or cupid).
It is marked with two butterflies that belong to heinrich hoffman. This mark kicks up czech glass a notch.
He used the open-winged butterfly to identify his work. (heinrich hoffman 1875-1939) it is a spectacular vanity item. I invite you to check my other listings for a variety of items including more vanity items. This item is made of czech glass. The style is traditional and mid century.
