This beautiful musical powder puff box was made by lador between the 1940's and 1950's. The metal is a gold tone/brass look. Most of the lador powder puff boxes i see are silver in color. The top features an inlaid floral embellishment of a pink rose with leaves.
The top of the lid also has some embossed detail work. While the box is in very good vintage condition, there is some minor scratches and pitting. The only noticeable dent is under the lid on the top rim which was very hard to photograph. Photo 4 makes it look like there is a mark on the inside of the rim but that is just glare - there is no such mark on the piece.
On the wooden bottom is the wind up "knob" and three gold round feet. There is a faded lador hallmark between the paper label and the wind up mechanism. The music works and plays moonlight serenade when wound and the lid is off. Powder puff is not included.
Measurements are: 3 1/4 tall. " the top diameter is 3 1/4" wide and the bottom diameter is 5. This powder box would be a beautiful addition to any vanity or collector of vintage boudoir pieces that have a victorian era look.
