Beautiful vintage Limoges French collectible pocket watch style powder compact (convertible compact) featuring a stunning Limoges porcelain insert, 50-70s. Deep cobalt blue porcelain ("Bleu de Roi") decorated with a classic gold gilt Fragonard courting couple scene.
The heavy gold-toned metal casing features an elegant repoussé floral border and a pocket watch style top loop and crown. The top crown acts as a push-button clasp that opens the compact smoothly. Inside: Features its original clear glass mirror in perfect condition (no foxing or silver loss) and the rare original inner nylon mesh sifter for loose powder. Markings: Clearly stamped "MADE IN FRANCE" on the inner rim near the hinge. Signed "Limoges" in gold on the front porcelain insert.Weight: 60 g (2.2 in). Diameter: 65 mm (2.6 oz).
